Announcements
Thrive, our first year small group, continues this Saturday, 9/19 at 4:30 pm in the W11 community room. All first years are welcome! Contact mnjackson@mit.edu with any questions.
Looking for new friends to study the Bible with, navigate graduate school, or think more about what Christianity means for our lives? Check out http://web.mit.edu/mitgcf/www/sg.shtml to find information about our various small groups that meet during the week, and don't hesitate to get in touch with us (or just stop by)!
Fall Retreat is coming! Enjoy New England foliage, meet grad students from other Boston schools, be challenged by the prophet Jeremiah's letter to the Israelites in Babylon, canoe, hike, play, retreat… It is on Columbus Day weekend (October 9-11), so you have Monday off if you need to work. THIS FRIDAY is the early bird discount deadline. MIT first-years get half-off thanks to our alumni, but scholarships are available to anyone in need. Visit http://intervarsityretreat.info for details and to register.
Next week: We're bringing back a tradition from last year called Dinner For Eight! Older students will team up to host dinner with first-years in smaller groups to facilitate deeper conversations. More information coming soon!
Prayer Square
Pray that we would trust God with this semester
Pray that this campus would find joy and peace in Christ
Pray for new students arriving, that they would transition well and get plugged into a Christian community during their time in grad school
Spiritual Encouragement
Blessed be the Lord, who daily bears our burden, the God who is our salvation. God is to us a God of deliverances; and to God the Lord belong escapes from death. Psalm 68:19-20
