NEWSFLASH | IAP Dessert Games | Saturday 1/23 6.30pm | SP Seminar Room

Welcome to the MIT Graduate Christian Fellowship!

This coming Saturday (note change from our usual Friday), we are excited to serve the IAP Dessert Games! Join us for a potluck dinner and board games, and at the middle of it all, a battle for the best dessert on campus. This will be an open event, so please invite labmates and friends to come have fun with us! Register with your small group leader to coordinate culinary strategies. Don't have a group? Contact Anthony mcdougal@mit.edu to join a team.

Announcements

  • The GCF Winter Retreat is coming up on February 12-14 in Toah Nipi! This is always a good chance to reflect, rest, and dedicate the upcoming semester to God. Unlike the fall retreat, we do all of the planning and organization for ourselves as a fellowship, so we need your help! E-mail Sam (same@mit.edu) if you're interested in joining a retreat-organizing committee.
  • Looking for new friends with whom to study the Bible, navigate graduate school, or think more about what Christianity means for our lives? Check out a small group near you!
  • Interested in joining a group of seekers reading Mere Christianity over a free dinner? Sunday nights, 7.30 pm - W11 Community room (W11-155). Contact: gig@mit.edu
  • Join a weekly prayer gathering (or email mit-gcf-fun@mit.edu to start your own!):
    • Monday 12:00-1:00pm, 500 Tech Square, NE47-219. Contact: Anya (aburkart@mit.edu)
    • Tuesday 12:00-12:30pm, Building 46 atrium (3rd floor). Contact: Madeline (mywong@mit.edu)

Prayer Square

  • Pray that we would "let [our] light shine before" our classmates, labmates, and supervisors to the glory of God
  • Pray that this campus would come to trust in Christ alone
  • Pray for those away during IAP

Spiritual Encouragement

Bel has bowed down, Nebo stoops over; their images are consigned to the beasts and the cattle. The things that you carry are burdensome, a load for the weary beast. They stooped over, they have bowed down together; they could not rescue the burden, but have themselves gone into captivity. Listen to Me, O house of Jacob, and all the remnant of the house of Israel, You who have been borne by Me from birth and have been carried from the womb; even to your old age I will be the same, and even to your graying years I will bear you! I have done it, and I will carry you; and I will bear you and I will deliver you.

Isaiah 46:1-4
