Welcome to the MIT Graduate Christian Fellowship!
This weekend we'll head to Toah Nipi Retreat Center with other grad students in the Boston area. The name Toah Nipi comes from Algonquin for "wide waters." If you signed up, look for ride arrangement and logistics emails that were already sent out!
Announcements
+ On the Friday after the retreat (10/12), we will be arranging our traditional "Dinner for 8," where we can fellowship with each other in a cozier setting. Please sign up to be a guest or host* in this survey by October 6th (Sat)!
*For host/co-hosts: We need your help to make "Dinner for Eight" happen! This is a unique opportunity serve fellow grad students (especially first years!) and practice hospitality (and maybe learn cooking!). Each 8-person group will have a host who provides the venue and 1-2 co-hosts to help food prep etc. You can indicate those you want to team up with in the survey. Otherwise, we will pair you with other host/co-hosts.
+ Small group Bible studies are meeting weekly: http://web.mit.edu/mitgcf/www/sg.shtml. If you are interested in joining one, please contact the small group leader(s) for more details.
Prayer Square
Pray for a time of growing closer to God and each other at the retreat.
Pray that we may seek God and keep his words in our daily lives.
Spiritual Encouragement
Better is one day in your courts
than a thousand elsewhere;
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
than dwell in the tents of the wicked.
For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
the Lord bestows favor and honor;
no good thing does he withhold
from those whose walk is blameless.
Lord Almighty,
blessed is the one who trusts in you.
--Psalm 84:10-12
